Check out the Labrador Point Rental Property (above link)

Conditions on Lake Gogebic are as normal for this time of year.  And every year people start asking if we will have ice.  YES  We expect fishable ice well into April.  It sure is beautiful out though :)

Gus and I look forward to visiting with all of our former bait shop friends.  Gus continues to hold his morning coffee / BS session from about 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Hog-a-Thon entries are coming in at a good rate.  We're preparing for another group near the 300 mark.  The Lodge has the picnic buffet menu and we're procuring the door prizes.  The excitement is building!  All prizes will be awarded, in full.  Past year's winning perch ranged in size from 1# 7.9 oz. to more than 2# 3oz.  See the Hog-a-Thon page for details.

WEATHER: Nights single digits, days in the 40's.  No precip expected over the next several days.

FISHING REPORT:  Perch still not biting very well.  Some guys marking lots of fish though.  Reports of 20+ marked in a day by some.  Walleye action has picked up nicely in the northern shallows (up to 10'.

  Sam Brady, 27" Walleye

Mike Clabots of DePere, 1#15.3 oz.  2/20/10                 2/28/10

Also landed 2/20/10 (by anonymous angler) a 2# 1oz. Hog - 2nd 2 pounder of the season.

Greg Miljevich & Ken Mader catch some beauties.  Greg's is 2010's first 2 pounder, 2/13/10.  More photos on the Photo Gallery page.  Quality not quantity.  Good job guys.

ICE CONDITIONS:  As usual no trucks or cars.  Plenty of ice for snowmobiles, about 18" or so and snow cover and slushy spots make this the way to go.  A couple of truck tried travel over the weekend with poor results.  ATV's are hit & miss right now.  Cold nights make morning travel fine, but sunny days turns the surface to slush.  Not good.  Select areas may do fine for ATV's, though.

SNOWMOBILE CONDITIONS:  Trails have suffered with the warm daytime temps.  Pretty awful unless we get more snow.

COINS WE BUY, SELL & TRADE

Gus and I have been going more public with our pet hobby.  We pay top dollar for collectable coins and will also trade for lodging, stump grinding services, fish taxidermy, guide services and more.
